July 31, 2014 - SEIU Withdraws Petition to Represent La Verne Adjunct Faculty

 July 18, 2014 - National NLRB Denies SEIU Appeal

May 5, 2014 – SEIU Appeals NLRB’s Decision

April 16, 2014 – NLRB dismisses all ULP charges; Board concludes that union’s allegations have no merit.

April 4, 2014 – NLRB denies the University's "Request for Review"; election continues to be on hold

March 11, 2014 – University files position statement in opposition of the Union's six ULP allegations

February 26, 2014 – University files a Request for Reconsideration to the NLRB

February 21, 2014 – University files motion to deny SEIU’s appeal to stop vote count; Regional Director reverses decision

February 20, 2014 – University files an "Opposition to Union's Request for Special Permission to Appeal" to the NLRB urging for vote count

February 19, 2014 – NLRB denies the University's "Request for Review"; University calls for vote count

February 18, 2014 – NLRB postpones the ballot count scheduled for February 18 because the NLRB has not yet ruled on the University's "Request for Review" filed on January 21

February 14, 2014 – Secret ballots due to the NLRB; Union filed a "Request for Special Permission to Appeal" to the NLRB in D.C. asking to overrule the Region's decision

February 13, 2014 – ULP Charges Filed Against the University

February 7, 2014 – The SEIU reversed its position, asking the Region for permission to withdraw its "Requests to Proceed" and demanding that the election be stopped until the ULPs are decided. The Region refused

  • Did not receive a copy of the SEIU’s Request to Proceed 

January 31, 2014 – NLRB mails secret ballots to eligible voters; The SEIU filed another ULP against the University

January 23, 2014 – The SEIU filed Unfair Labor Practice Charges (ULP) against the University. It also filed "Requests to Proceed", asking that the election continue as planned. The Region proceeded with the election as planned

  • Did not receive a copy of the SEIU’s Request to Proceed 

January 21, 2014 – The University files a "Request for Review" with the NLRB in Washington, D.C., appealing the Region's decision to keep the voting unit limited to only adjuncts on the main campus

January 14, 2014 – NLRB decides election dates (January 31 – February 14)

December 20, 2013 – University sends letter to Regional Director regarding voter eligibility

December 18, 2013 – NLRB decides voter eligibility 

November 14, 2013 – NLRB hearing on bargaining unit composition

October 28, 2013 – SEIU files petition to represent certain adjunct faculty
